What Is Reiki?

  • What is Reiki and its benefits?

Reiki has it’s origin in an ancient Tibetan tradition of energy healing and is more than 2500 years old. In the early 1870’s it was discovered by a Japanese monk Dr. Mikao Usui. His student Dr Hayashi then divideded reiki into the three levels we see today. Hayashi’s student Mrs Takata then brought Reiki to the attention of people in the USA and Canada.

Reiki means ‘Universal life force energy’ and it’s beneficial for any type of physical, emotional, mental or spiritual disorders.

Reiki as a hands on therapy naturally increases vitality and body energy by balancing the subtle energies in the patient’s body, mind and spirit. Reiki is a safe non-invasive therapy that can be used without fear of any side-effects or overdose. It may be used with confidence alongside conventional medicine or natural remedies because it acts in a complementary way.

Reiki can be used by anyone irrespective of their beliefs. It is suitable for all age groups and states of health. Reiki is powerful, yet gentle and safe. It can be used alongside other forms of treatment, both conventional and complementary in supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
